⏵ character information
name: Alicia
canon: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
age: Appears late teens; chronologically something like 90
canon point: Act III, after the Reacher quest
history: contains heavy spoilers for the whole game
abilities:
Immortality Alicia, like the rest of her family, were created to be immortal. All wounds eventually heal, no matter how severe (except the burn scars, of course. We can't have that). Even fatal wounds can only down her temporarily before she'll revive and pop back up, good as new. Of course, every injury still hurts as much as it would normally, and dying isn't pleasant. In addition, Alicia never ages, being stuck in her late teenage years for nearly a century. She can only be permanently killed by someone or someone capable of manipulate the chroma she's made out of, like a Painter from her world.
Painting Being raised by a family of artists means that, even though she never quite had the talent the rest of her family did, she's still got more artistic skill and training than the average person. She even still paints casually to keep her skills sharp.
Fencing She's an extremely skilled fighter, which is more of a learned ability than a supernatural one, but regardless. Alicia is extreme fast and able to deliver quick, powerful combos of attacks with her sword that makes her very scary when she actually applies herself.
Buffs In a fight, Alicia is able to give herself the buffs Rush or Powerful, which functionally just makes her faster or stronger. Not a huge change, but enough to be notable.

- Chroma-Dependant: Alicia has a number of abilities that involve the manipulation of Chroma, the lifeforce and building blocks of her world. Without it, her abilities would be limited or even unavailable until she can access some chroma.
personality:
Alicia is a ghost, someone always stuck in the shadows because she was made that way. She is someone who prefers to fade into the background and watch in the distance, reserved even without the scars that have constricted her to silence. She surrounds herself with a mysterious aura, whether intentionally or not, and often comes across as more of a phantom than a person.
After all, she's nothing more than a placeholder for her mother's, her creator's, grief and displaced guilt. Alicia is fully aware she's a copy of the youngest Dessendre daughter, who her mother blames for the catastrophic fire. Alicia carries that guilt with her always, sometimes directed at herself, sometimes at her other self, and sometimes at the rest of the family. It's something she bears with sorrow more than anger, an insecurity in her scars that leads her to wearing the mask she was given most of the time.
Time and silence has lead her to be introspective and thoughtful. Her family's natural tendency is towards art and beauty, and Alicia's tendency is towards poetry. What words she does have, she's careful and wields them masterfully, but obviously suffers from communication issues. Her world has never been kind in helping her find a way to communicate, and only her family learned to understand her. So more often than not Alicia's stuck in her own head, revealing little.
But perhaps her greatest curse is her passivity. Whether it's something she was made with as part of her burden and shadowy nature, or just the crushing weight of so many decades, Alicia has... given up. She rarely gets involved in issues, no matter how much they affect her. If she does, she doesn't try very hard to ensure any one ending. Whatever happens, happens, at this point. Maybe something can reignite her spark to get her going again, but she likes her peace and quiet. If the world ends, so be it.
Which is a shame, because Alicia is certainly capable of a lot. She has a clever and empathetic streak, willing to put her trust in others -- but not willing to risk much on it any more. There is, theoretically, the fire of a powerful warrior in her, but it's nearly sputtered and died. She could do a lot if she put her mind to it, but after what she's experience, rousing her heart to move is the hard part. Maybe in this new world something could change that, to reignite her soul, but it'd take quite a lot.
And so she remains her family's little shadow, the ghost of her world, always caught in the darkness.
